Shadow Merchants at Argentea Gallery

Yesterday saw the opening of Shadow Merchants at Argentea Gallery, Birmingham, a fantastic space for photographic art.Its part of the Developed in Birmingham season celebrating the early history of photography in Birmingham. Its on till the 15th of July. Go see it if you can.

I was invited to contribute some work as part of this group exhibition alongside artists Jo Gane, Gwen Wilkinson, Melanie King and Ray Spence. All well respected alternative – historic process artists and photographers.

I don’t keep a body of work to exhibit so I made three new 12×15 inch ambrotypes and a set of Bromoil prints from previous wet plates. Thank you for inviting me to contribute.

Here’s the six Bromoil prints. I’ll make a blog post about making these.

I think they look really good in situ. Thank you Jennie.
