Here two tintypes that came in a job lot.
Ones a little out of focus but the other is better. The book in the seated ladies hand is titled “Tempest and Sunshine”. A quick Google search brings up a novel by Mary Jane Holmes
Now I’ve no idea if the inclusion of the book has anything to do with these two ladies or it just happened to be a fashionable read at the time the image was taken. They look more like Mother and Daughter than they do sisters…
A quick flip and rotate in PS and the title is easily read.
