A lovely quarter plate uncased ambrotype, added to the collection, I thought it might have been in a worse condition than it actually is.
It was advertised on a white background, so all the cracks in the asphaltum were showing through. These are on the reverse of the plate, not the emulsion side, so after placing on a black background she looks almost as good as new, even though still highly scratched in the varnish

I’ll be posting up an amazing collection of dry plate negatives soon which will require some investigative work.
I’ll also be looking at cataloguing my collection. Any thoughts on what software is best to do this? Adobe Bridge?
