A lovely Bromoil print by John Thomson of Glasgow 1924. And not the other John Thomson of Edinburgh who keeps coming up in my online searches for more info.
Bought off Ebay for less than a tenner. It has some warpage, and the mount has faded slightly from the top, but the print is still good and about 8×6 inches.
To the reverse are exhibition labels for The Smithsonian Institute September /October 1924 and then The Camera Club, New York, from November/December 1924. Hopefully, they might have archive material where I can find out more.
“Winter”, a Bromoil print by John Thomson of Glasgow. If anyone has any info, please do let me know.
The text at top right has been scratched out rather than just erased sadly.
It’s always a pleasure to find original Bromoil prints like this, and especially at such a good price. I’ll keep searching for more info on this one.
I’ll add it to my Tom Shipley print, 1984, member of the Bromoil Circle of Britain that I also found on Feepay.
And apologies for the quick mobiles phone shots.
