I’ve seen these at various print studios and always thought what a great simple idea. As I’m having a clear out of equipment at the studio and trying to make the best of the space, I bought one used from Ebay.
To buy new online, the fancy marble version, can cost between £75 – £100 depending on how many prints it holds.
This version uses wooden dowel rather than marbles.
It does exactly the same job. Push a print up into the slot, raises the marble/dowel, as it drops back down the friction holds the print in place. To remove the print just lift the print to release the pressure and slide out. Brilliant.
Now if only I knew an talented woodworking craftsperson to make me a longer version….
