Kowa Six tests again

After last week’s issues with the Kowa 40mm lens, I’ve had various suggestions as to what the problem could be, from faulty lens shutters, light seal leaks and body malfunctions.

I don’t think it’s the light seals around the camera, I’m tending to agree more towards the leaf shutter issue.

To double check I put a roll of Ilford HP5 through, this time with the 85mm lens at various shutter speeds. Nowt exciting, just some snaps around the studio.

The negs don’t look as good as they do above, they are a little flatter due to underexpose, but… no ghosting between frames.

So I suppose this reaffirms the suggestion that’s it’s the shutter within the lens. Thanks Andrew and Alex for the suggestions so far.

The 40mm will have to go for a repair/service as its of no use to anyone as it is.

A couple of quick prints on that Orwo BN118 paper I quite like.
