I’ve never been a fan of pinhole photography. Everything in focus, nothing sharp 🙂 but it’s such an accessible way into photography.
I picked up this 5×4 pinhole camera years ago and it’s just been sitting on the shelf in the studio as an example of a pinhole camera.
I hadn’t given it a second glance until recently but had no idea what size the pinhole aperture is.

Online info ranges from f128 to f385 depending on where you look. There’s some info on the manufacturers website.

It was the end of the day so I loaded two sheets of Foma 100 5×4, partly to get used to using the changing bag, and made two exposures at f128 and f256. Both negs are quite thin but okay contrast. As an afterthought I think I could have been a bit more generous with the test bracketing.. It must be nearer f385.

These are still wet hence the run lines.

Although I have an app on my phone that will work for pinhole. I couldn’t resist printing a 3D pinhole exposure calculator. I just set it off printing and didn’t check it till it had finished…

Look at the bloody size of the thing lol.

As I’m still holding out for some 5×4 shuttered lenses to go with the spare Sinar F, but for now I’m considering taking this pinhole camera to Portugal instead, along with the changing bag and SP-445 processing tank.
Maybe. If it all fits in my under seat luggage.
