Sadly my studio has had a great deal of water ingress with the rain of late. The unit above and below has also been affected by the poor condition of the roof and walls of the mill.
Hopefully the Mill Trust will be able to sort it very soon as it’s only going to get worse as autumn and winter set in. There’s not much more the tenants can do about it apart from continue to empty our buckets and containers.
Today I have emptied nearly 25 litres of water over four days. That’s quite a lot just into my unit alone, but at least it saves it dropping down into the unit below. And as least I found a new use for my processing trays.
I’ve moved all my cameras and equipment to the other side of the studio for now, and the dehumidifier is running 24/7. I’m sure the wet/humidity isn’t very good for my wooden cameras and brass lenses so hoping it gets sorted very soon.
It’s going to take months to dry out before I can look at repairing plaster and repainting.
And it’s looking unlikely that I will be open for the Halloween Open Day in a couple of weeks, sorry everyone, unless people are interested in seeing a selection of buckets and containers as an interactive art work?!
