Ready for his close up!

I got these two 1/9th plate cased ambrotpyes off Ebay recently.

The matching cases are in really good condition, but we have a standard portrait and then a real up close head shot. Thats a little unusual, no? I don’t recall any others in my collection like this.

Also on the paper backing when removed from their cases is written in pencil, “Cambridge”, “Bambridge” or “Embridge” with one having May  1857 and the other June 16 1857?

I’ll take them to work and see if I can make it out under UV light.
