Another 99p ambrotype to add to the collection.
This one is unvarnished and the emulsion side was covered with clear glass with a gilt surround. 1/16th plate size.
Its been blacked out lightly to the rear side.
The front has crude red overpainting.
What I find odd is the side of her dress. At first I thought it had been over painted along the edge to enhance it but it hasn’t.
It look as if its solarised, its almost 3D! Very strange indeed when you see it up close in hand…
