It’s been a long while since I’ve had any flyers or business cards printed. And with the Grand Opening of Leigh Spinners Mill this June, along with an exhibition, I thought I best pull my thumb out. But as you know I’m easily distracted…
Introducing the “Auto-Phrame” a snapshot case.
It’s sort of a polished metal business card case but for your snapshots? About the size of a squashed matchbox.
British Made – Holds 30 snaps at V.P. size. I’m going to assume VP is Vest Pocket, as in the Kodak Vest Pocket camera, as that has a negative size which would match this at about 65mm x 45mm, so maybe contact printed prints?
As its “British Made” I did a search on the UK GOV for Patent 305914, and the one time I actually want to look up a patent it’s unavailable! Google doesn’t come back with anything at all, and thats quite unusual. Guess I’ll have to wait till after 10PM to find out.
Just one of those novelty things you buy off ebay for a pound and put in a drawer or on shelf, but now has me thinking.
Hi, Tony. S Wineberg was the patentee. It was filed on 22 September 1928, but priority was given to a French patent, so I am not sure if this was completed. I can’t find the auto-phrame in a trade catalogue or the photo press.
Thanks Michael, I’ll see what else I can find out if anything. Cool little gadget though.
