Its looking increasingly unlikely that I can get the studio unit I was looking at. Mark, the building manager, showed me the unit next door thats just come available now that the “band” has moved out. Its about 400 sq ft, so a little bigger, but for the same cost….. no brainer there.
Water will have to be piped in from next door and where I’d put the darkroom would need a waste pump like the last studio. I reckon it just might do.
Its in a bit of a state but should scrub up nicely. As the countdown continues on the studio lease I had contemplated maybe going without a studio space. Then after trying some printing again at home I’ve come to the conclusion that tripping over the cats and journeys to the bathroom for water, just isn’t worth the hassle.
These are quick enlargement prints from a quarter plate and 35mm clear glass ambrotypes. I had contact printed plates onto paper previously but hadn’t got around to enlarging. Something I’ll be looking at doing more of when I’ve sorted a studio space.
Looks like a great place to spread out Tony! We will be watching your progress from across the pond:)
Thanks Jen, Not sure about spread out, taht was the problem with the last place, twice the size of this one but managed to fill it with “stuff”! and probably only used a fifth of the space properly. Lesson learned.
