{"id":10685,"date":"2017-01-07T15:00:36","date_gmt":"2017-01-07T15:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/?p=10685"},"modified":"2019-08-28T17:36:14","modified_gmt":"2019-08-28T17:36:14","slug":"llanthony-priory-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/llanthony-priory-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Llanthony Priory 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I&#8217;m updating my main website I&#8217;ve noticed another event I seem to have forgot to blog about last year.<\/p>\n<p>Last years Wet Plate Weekend meet up was again at <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Llanthony_Priory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Llanthony Priory<\/a> by popular demand.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11124\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2016\/10\/Llanthony.jpg\" alt=\"llanthony\" width=\"576\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Llanthony.jpg 576w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Llanthony-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&nbsp;was very very wet and windy! Even so, that didn&#8217;t stop a determined group of wet platers descending on Llanthony Priory for their annual wet plate camping weekend. Granted some opted for the drier environs of the local Inns but there were a handful who braved the weather with just canvas above their heads.<\/p>\n<p>This year &#8220;Cliff Barnes&#8221; from Germany and Melanie Jane Fry from France had flown over to join us. I do believe Melanies son was with her but he was of the &#8220;lesser spotted variety&#8221; that seemed to hibernate most of the weekend. I wish the weather could have been better for you but I hope you had a great time anyway.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11123\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2016\/10\/MelCliff.jpg\" alt=\"melcliff\" width=\"576\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/MelCliff.jpg 576w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/MelCliff-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Steph and I arrived early Friday evening, we bumped into Kevin Lunham and headed to the bar&#8230;.others soon began to arrive and join us.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11125\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2016\/10\/Beer1.jpg\" alt=\"Processed with Snapseed.\" width=\"576\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Beer1.jpg 576w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Beer1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once again the staff at Llanthony Priory Hotel\/Bar were very accommodating to us and we all managed to squeeze into the bar on the Friday night.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11126\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2016\/10\/Beer2.jpg\" alt=\"beer2\" width=\"576\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Beer2.jpg 576w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Beer2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the Saturday, we thought it only fair to take some custom to the Half Moon Inn just a few minutes walk from the Priory. Some would say an impossible one. Better waterproof footwear next time.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you everyone for turning up, even though the forecast for the weekend was so miserable even before you set off from home.<\/p>\n<p>For 2017 lets find a different venue. This originally started off as &#8220;lets just camp in a field and shoot some plates of something interesting&#8221; but we soon found that we like some creature comforts, whether that be a pub, B&amp;B, wifi, underfloor heating&#8230; I try to accomodate all requests.<\/p>\n<p>So if you know somewhere that has camping, B&amp;B, a pub with food and something to shoot then let me know.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I&#8217;m updating my main website I&#8217;ve noticed another event I seem to have forgot to blog about last year.
