Either way it was win win if my gamble paid off.<\/p>\n<p>What a bit of luck!<\/p>\n<p>They aren&#8217;t quite as good as the ones we have in the <a href=\"http:\/\/luna.manchester.ac.uk\/luna\/servlet\/Manchester~15~15\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Photographic Collection<\/a> here at the John Rylands Library titled&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/luna.manchester.ac.uk\/luna\/servlet\/s\/4i8am5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;Doppelg\u00e4ngers and Spectres&#8221;<\/a> but they are very similar.<\/p>\n<p>They have just arrived so here they are digitised.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13058\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/02\/Trick1.jpg\" alt=\"Trick1\" width=\"504\" height=\"383\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Trick1.jpg 504w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Trick1-300x228.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13059\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/02\/Trick2.jpg\" alt=\"Trick2\" width=\"504\" height=\"386\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Trick2.jpg 504w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Trick2-300x230.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This ones not quite so successful and doesn&#8217;t join so well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13060\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/02\/Trick3.jpg\" alt=\"Trick3\" width=\"504\" height=\"385\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Trick3.jpg 504w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Trick3-300x229.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Does anyone know&nbsp;if this was an adaptation to the front of the lens or a mask to the plate holder?<\/p>\n<p>Either way a great bit of fun.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I bid on some nondescript quarter plate glass negatives on Ebay and had a sneaking suspicion they were trick double exposure photography&#8230;.. or three sets of twins!
