The website\/blog is back up and running after a few episodes of down time. Now hopefully sorted.<\/p>\n<p>Steph recently asked if she could come to the studio and make some Christmas cards in Cyanotype, she&#8217;s not tried any photo printing before and would I show her how? Of course, I&#8217;m delighted she&#8217;s taken some interest in photography, after all she&#8217;s put up with me enough, attending the wet plate events and listening to me drone on about cameras and chemistry.<\/p>\n<p>She soon got the hang of it, having had a go at brush and rod coating on a variety of papers that happened to be in the studio and finished off the last of the cyanotype chems. I&#8217;m tempted to mix up some more.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13816\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/12\/Cyano1.jpg\" alt=\"mef\" width=\"432\" height=\"324\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano1.jpg 432w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13817\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/12\/Cyano2.jpg\" alt=\"dav\" width=\"432\" height=\"324\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano2.jpg 432w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After a variety of Christmas ornaments she ended up using a cheap set of led tree lights.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13818\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/12\/Cyano4.jpg\" alt=\"dav\" width=\"324\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano4.jpg 324w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano4-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 324px) 100vw, 324px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She started to experiment with items from around the studio, between exposures for her cards&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13819\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/12\/Cyano5.jpg\" alt=\"mef\" width=\"324\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano5.jpg 324w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano5-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 324px) 100vw, 324px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; and then knocked out this lovely print. She&#8217;s obviously a natural. I&#8217;ll get it framed and onto the wall at home.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13820\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/12\/Cyano6.jpeg\" alt=\"dav\" width=\"432\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano6.jpeg 432w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano6-300x151.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Of course I had to have a go, and looking for a snowflake image I remembered seeing somewhere, led me to a photographer I&#8217;d not heard of before, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wilson_Bentley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wilson Bentley<\/a>. Amazing check him out.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13821\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2018\/12\/Cyano.jpg\" alt=\"oznor\" width=\"432\" height=\"324\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano.jpg 432w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Cyano-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, coming to the end of another year and I feel I&#8217;ve been slacking of late.
