I’ve known Pete for a few years now, he’s been especially generous and kind by donating plates and negatives to my collection. He’s also a fellow camera nerd, today he dropped by the studio with an interesting lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few dozen early colour film transparencies mounted as Magic Lantern slides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I couldn’t wait so here’s a selection that jumped out. All between June and August 1937.<\/p>\n\n\n

Not Autochromes but more likely something similar to Dufaycolor invented in 1935. You can make out the geometric mosaic layer using a magnifier. Autochrome is far more random in its mosaic of potato starch grains. Wiki link here<\/a>.
I’ve not colour balanced them as they are quick hand held shots. I’ll take them to work and digitise them properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And a couple of dozen early stereo glass positives, given to Pete via Wayne who lives locally.<\/p>\n\n\n
