This one is much more sturdy and looks like it will hold my larger cameras easily.<\/p>\n<p>This was covered in the standard awful black paint of the time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/tripodold.jpg\" alt=\"tripodold\" title=\"tripodold\" width=\"440\" height=\"649\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4321\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/tripodold.jpg 440w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/tripodold-203x300.jpg 203w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After several hours with various brands of paintstripper I was getting nowhere fast.<br \/>\nThe electric sander proved more than adequate&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A few coats of beeswax and a quick scrub with wire wool and its back together. I&#8217;m not one for making my kit look new, if you replace one screw with a shiny brass one you may as well go the whole hog and make everything shiny.
