This is the first wet plate negative to be added to my collection. I have no idea of the age of the plate. I&#8217;m assuming its a wet plate image, I suppose it could be an early home poured dry plate? If you have any ideas please let me know. For the price I couldn&#8217;t really say no as you don&#8217;t see them that often in comparison to ambrotyopes\/tintypes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2014\/06\/WPNeg.jpg\" alt=\"WPNeg\" width=\"390\" height=\"504\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/WPNeg.jpg 390w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/WPNeg-232x300.jpg 232w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 390px) 100vw, 390px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The collodion has lifted in places and here you can see it peeling back from the corner.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2014\/06\/WPnegCrop.jpg\" alt=\"WPnegCrop\" width=\"412\" height=\"504\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/WPnegCrop.jpg 412w, https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/WPnegCrop-245x300.jpg 245w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 412px) 100vw, 412px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a large number of ambrotypes, tintypes and a few opalotypes now.
