David Hum &amp; Co of 90, Newgate Street, London and 41 Oxford Street, Manchester. Photographer James Brown also operated out of 41 Oxford Street at some time.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/manchesterhistory.net\/manchester\/churches.html\" href=\"http:\/\/manchesterhistory.net\/manchester\/churches.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Saint Peters Church<\/a> can be seen in the distance and that was demolished in 1907 so the image is prior to this&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Heres how it looks now&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8837\" src=\"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2014\/11\/HumC02.gif\" alt=\"Hum&amp;C02\" width=\"720\" height=\"528\"><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got an idea in my head to start some research into Victorian daylight photographic studios in Manchester, where they were and if any still remain.<\/p>\n<p>Of course there were a large number of Photographers operating all over the Manchester area so I think I&#8217;ll concentrate on the city centre.<\/p>\n<p>There is some online info&nbsp;about Manchester photographer <a title=\"http:\/\/www.mosi.org.uk\/media\/34162624\/j.tchapmanltd.pdf\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mosi.org.uk\/media\/34162624\/j.tchapmanltd.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josiah T Chapman<\/a> but not much else. &nbsp;I do remember seeing some books relating specifically to Manchester Photographers at the Central Library when working&nbsp;there with Gwen, one of the photographers at John Rylands Library, last year.
