{"id":9838,"date":"2015-09-01T11:22:20","date_gmt":"2015-09-01T11:22:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/?p=9838"},"modified":"2019-08-28T19:13:58","modified_gmt":"2019-08-28T19:13:58","slug":"william-mcmurray-gatehouse-of-fleet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fourtoes.co.uk\/iblog\/william-mcmurray-gatehouse-of-fleet\/","title":{"rendered":"William McMurray &#8211; Gatehouse of Fleet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last year I was invited up to Gatehouse of Fleet in Scotland as part of their &#8220;Memories Weekend&#8221;, a celebration of the work of prolific local Photographer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gatehouse-folk.org.uk\/dynamic.asp?ID=17\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">William McMurray<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The idea was to replicate some of his photographic plates with the modern day McMurray family descendants.<\/p>\n<p>I hadn&#8217;t blogged about it at the time as I was so busy moving to different sites that I hadn&#8217;t taken much in the way of supporting digital images. I had been waiting on a local resident who was following behind with his dslr but nothing really&nbsp;came&nbsp;from them, so a blog post never materialised&#8230;. until I found some small scans of the plates from that event on my home hard drive.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d been wanting to try out a new WordPress plugin called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/twentytwenty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">twentytwenty<\/a>&#8220;, I have in mind to use it for another project\/blog post, so this seemed a perfect opportunity to put it to the test with some images.<\/p>\n<p>This is a &#8220;slider&#8221;of&nbsp;37 Catherine Street. William McMurray&#8217;s childhood home.
