Dry Plates and Albumen Print

Recent Feepay purchases to add to my collection.

Three half plates (Dry) and a lovely whole plate albumen print.

And this Bearded chap being the reason I bought the plates.

This Whole plate albumen print from a wet plate collodion negative (1860) has been slightly overpainted, especially on the face and hands, this give this young man, G. E. Allen, a very porcelain doll like face.

Just curious, i too have a very large collection of glass plates, how can I identify which process was used to create them, or is it just a seasoned eye and a lot of experience?
