I bought these a couple of months ago, thanks to the help of Andrew for picking them up and sending them on to me.
The online description was a little vague but the contents turned out pretty good for the price.
Heres a teaser.
I’ll post them up individually or as pairs if the same sitter etc. I’ll start with one of my favourites.
What is very interesting is the ammount of fine touching up on each negative with ?pencil to give definition. Heres a crop of how it shows up on a close up. I’ll see if I can get a shot of the actual pencil marks on the emulsion side. Its proving tricky to capture it adequately.
Excellent! I love the post.
I’m going to George Eastman House to learn this retouching technique. It’s on 24th of March if I’m not mistaken. Come along, it’ll be a blast!
I wish I could Borut, but my list for GEH is way too long and would have to re mortgage the house!… It looks a very interesting technique. I’ll try again at capturing the details, it has quite a strange look as an image itself.
Than get an easyjet flight and come to my town. I’ll organize wetplate expedition on the last week of July, so mark the date.
Hell yes….
