I have several plates sitting around my desk, I pick them up occasionally to reflect upon, this one was taken in the Polaroid passport camera. Clicky here.
I had put it to one side and forgotten about it, then after scanning some of the Scotland plates as negs I thought this one might be worth another look. An ambrotype is basically an underexposed neg right?
Originally scanned as a reflective ambrotype.
Now scanned as a neg….
Granted it suffered a few scratches and knocks while sitting amongst all the stuff on my desk. It now makes me think that any over exposed plates should now be put to one side and looked at in a different light…so to speak. They may well be of use as a neg?
