Not a bad haul from todays antique fair.
A selection of cheap tintypes…
Some cabinet cards and larger, one of a musical family.
Turns out the chap with the axe is William Gladstone! Apparently he enjoyed felling trees to keep fit on the family estate.
Three boxes of exposed dry plates. Conent to be confirmed. Looks like coastal views, boating and portraits.
Two whole plate albumen prints of Manchester Town Hall and Picadilly. Most likely by Frith. Tbe dates are incorrect I believe. The detail in these is amazing. These have come out of an album, on the reverse are prints of Durham and Rosslyn Church interior.
And then theres this amazing 12×15 inch albumen print of a family and their pets by Heslop Woods. Got to. Love the cat.
