Has it really been two weeks since I last posted on here, thats not like me at all.
I’ve not had much time at the studio since starting the new job. I’ve been calling in twice a week to check on everything.I still need to replace a smashed window pane, thanks to the local youths.
I eventually found my IDA license so I can get back to ordering chems and mixing afresh.
The Mask Series plate will be getting under way in the next week or so. I had a digital trial shoot last week and in principle it should work.
A few weeks ago we popped down to South Wales to visit my parents. Whilst there I had another look through the family photo album, well I say family album, its actually an old biscuit tin…
Theres a few high quality carte de visites and cabinet cards but this postcard stood out to me. We think its my Fathers side of the family and that the baby is his Mother. That would put this around 1910-1920. I’ll double check the dates.
Its a bit rough round the edges but I think I’ll tidy it up a little and make a digi plate of it.
I’ve also arranged a little wet plate get together via the UK wet plate Facebook page. Thats on the weekend of 9th August in Ruberslaw, near Jedburgh. If your in the area please pop in and say hello.
I’ll be providing a wet plate demo hopefully at John Rylands Library in September as part of the Portrait of an Archive exhibition. Really looking forward to that.
So hopefully back on track from this week.
Ok, two comments in one day – but this is more of a question? How do you then – remain so diligent in your posting regularity – when you do? :)- What is your habit/skill/otherthing? I am always impressed at someone when they can post regularly and consistantly interesting – something I guess I would like to be better at – any tips?
Cheers,
paul
Hmmmm my blog post seem to come in fits and starts of late. I see (today is the 24 November) and I haven’t posted for two weeks again. Although I’ll be posting a blog post about a great tintype tutorial I gave yesterday.
So I guess I need to improve my posting regularity again….
CHeers,
Tony
