Another job lot of dry plate negatives, I was hoping they were half plate so I could re use the wooden box for my own plates, turns out they are 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches. So some sort of postcard sized camera. A little odd in size as most would be 3 1/4 not 3 1/2 inch?
A mixed box of family portraits, a wedding, funeral and a lakeside home?
Thats a great wrist watch come pocket watch! Anyone have any info on this timepiece?
Some peculiar purple masking/vignette on a couple of them.
Would this have been classed as risqué or just fashionable at the time?
Someone might recognise this terrain and landscape. I wonder if that lakeside house is still there?
And then maybe someone might know this Church and the grave of Laura Jones… Died December 20th 1906, of Porth Dinorwig. Which I think is in North Wales just North of Caernarfon.
Hi, Looking on Google maps it looks like LLanedwen Parish Church which is over the Menai Straights from Porth Dinorwig, looks as if it is on Anglesea. I wonder if the house is also on the Menai Straights, It looks as if it is close to a slate quarry. The watch looks like a pocket watch which has been adapted for a wrist watch !
Someone has the family tree of Laura Jones on Ancestry
I sent this as an email as well. I have tried to send you a picture of the church but I can’t send it on here.
Hi Annie,
Excellent work, thank you, I’ll check it out.
Cheers,
Tony
Depending on what you can and cant do with the pics, it might be worth adding any Welsh relevant ones to the Peoples COllection Wales.
