My new Moo business cards arrived today and they may be a little too bling, what do you think?
Last month I had similar cards made in a more traditional plain style, rounded corners and in the style of a Carte de Visite, sort of.
Moo also advertise a Gold Leaf service and I thought I’d give it a try. To be fair the staff at Moo were great and very helpful in regards to the limitations of my artwork that I provided. Luckily a friend of Stephs let slip that he works in Adobe Illustrator and other design software, so he offered to redraw my poor jpeg version into a vectorised? pdf version. Thank you Jonathan, really appreciated.
I was keen to see how the gold reproduced on such a small size with my new image file….
The gold still managed to pool in places and certain details are just about readable. Maybe a tweak of the image file will help that along, I was still pleasantly surprised with how they look, the reverse I’d taken from one of my Cdvs in my collection.
They’ve printed a fraction off centre but I can live with that.
I had ordered a few blank fronted ones so I could try and paste my own albumen prints onto, but it seems Moo thought I’d made an error and filled them in for me with some of my images…. oh well, next time.
A little fine tuning and I think I’ll be happy with the next batch and I still have the tamer version that looks really good.
Thanks again to Jonathan for the new image file and also to Julien at Moo Cards for his patience and advice.
I really like them Tony – they definitely stand out from the crowd. Moo are great, but they do have a tendency to print off centre. We complained about this with one batch and they immediately offered a complete re-print of the order free of charge – excellent quibble free service. The replacement batch was much better.
Thanks James, Mo have offered to reprint so Ive sent them an updated design/artwork…. we shall see.
They look great, Tony! Might have to…erm…’borrow’ that idea for The LSP!
Thanks Jack. Keep up the good work.
